With the 4th of July upon us we wanted something that would be a perfect fit for all members of the family to celebrate with on this patriotic holiday, so this month we are going to make two simple drinks, a mocktail for the kiddos (or those that don’t imbibe!) and a classic cocktail for hot summer days for the adults! We also wanted something that would be super easy to make ahead of time so that you can be ready to host all your friends and family in plenty of time.
The 4th of July Mocktail consists of Kool-aid ice cubes and sprite! We used Blue Lemonade Kool-aid and Cherry Kool-aid to make the blue and red ice cubes, and then alternated them in a glass topped with sprite (or could use ginger ale), and as the ice melts, makes for a fun flavor, and purple drink! Our two boys thought the colored ice cubes were “super cool!” and they loved the drink when gave them the mocktails we used for the photos in this post!
For the cocktail we went with a simple vodka tonic using fruit infused ice cubes to make this easy cocktail delicious and festive! We started by making some large ice cubes filled with blueberries and raspberries. If you don’t have the large ice cube molds, small ones will do. Place the large ice in your glass, and top with 1 1/2 oz vodka and 5-6 ounces tonic. Cheers!
