Have you been feeling stressed out, moody, or just not your normal, happy self? Believe it or not, there are many small choices you can make each day to improve your mood! Here are 5 simple ways to be happier this month:
-
Write down 15-20 things you enjoy doing.
After you have your list, commit to doing at least one of those things you listed every day! Schedule it into your calendar and make your happiness a priority! These happy things you enjoy don’t need to be complicated! Be creative! A few ideas include: *playing with a pet! *having a coffee date with a friend. *reading a chapter in a great book. *visiting the Farmer’s market. *making a tasty dessert.

Learn something new!
All of us have ideas of different things we would like to do, skills to learn, and questions to answer. The next time you are wondering, “How do I…” or “I wish I was better at…” hop on Google and do a search! You can learn how to be a better saver, train your dog a new trick, or find new adventures in your community in just a few clicks or a short trip to your local library!
-
Find something to cut out of your schedule that causes you stress or that you just don’t enjoy!
Just because it is something good, it doesn’t mean it’s good for you! By trimming your schedule you will have more time to do the things you enjoy, improving your happiness! Having a crowded schedule causes stress. Show yourself kindness by having some margin in your life.
-
Do something kind for someone else each day.
I always feel better about helping others and being a good person. If you have kids it’s a great learning experience for them, too! If you’d like some ideas on I have several posts on kindness here and ways to serve in your community here!

Get rid of some stuff.
What are you holding on to that you never use, doesn’t fit, or is broken? By throwing away the broken stuff (if you havent fixed it by now it’s probably not happening) or donating it you will have more room for what you love!
