It has been a busy-busy-busy summer and fall for us… and I’m sure almost all of you would probably say the same thing! My husband and I have had a lot of shoots over the past few months and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you.
Alvin and Meghann are such a wonderful couple. We had the privilege of taking their engagement portraits and it was a blast to work with them. Alvin is a farmer and they wanted to incorporate that into some of their pictures. This is one of my favorites because it’s not a traditional engagement portrait. I like the uniqueness of the picture and their cute little ‘stand-off’ pose. What couple doesn’t have a little competitive streak with each other? =)
I have such beautiful seniors to work with! Laurel is a gorgeous young lady and a talented musician. When she asked if I wanted her to bring her violin to the shoot, I said ‘yes’ immediately! I love the artistic flair that the violin brings to this portrait.
I’ve never worked with a magazine before but this fall I had the opportunity to shoot portraits of my father and uncle for Progressive Farmer. I love this wide shot – the clouds and sky are beautiful and the field is so green. We did a variety of close-up portraits and such, but this is one of my favorites from the shoot because it is so very Nebraska.
We had scheduled the Beahm family’s pictures in the spring but the morning of the shoot was freezing and wet… so we postponed until fall. Cindy was actually the winner of a Her View From Home giveaway last fall for a free family photo session. We have some wonderful ‘posed’ family portraits but this is one of my favorites because it really captures their family’s personality – fun and a little crazy! =)
This is Teresa, another one of my beautiful senior girls! We were at a park in Hastings to do some dance portraits and Sam noticed that the setting sun was illuminating thousands of spider webs in the grass. It looked incredible… especially once Teresa hit this gorgeous ballet pose.
It’s been a wonderful, crazy, educational summer and fall for us. We still have a few shoots left to do this month but I am looking forward to having a break over the winter. I’m thankful for all of my clients that make my job so much fun, and for all that Sam and I are learning along the way!
