I was born in Omaha, and lived most of my life there (except for three years I lived in central South Dakota in a town of 1728 people where my Mother taught country school, and I was home schooled.) I went to Benson High School in Omaha, and the University of Omaha, and taught in the Omaha Public Schools till I married the man of my dreams. We had three great kiddos: Steve (who now lives in Texas and is with the national Park Service), Andy (who now lives in Denver Co, and does something with golf courses), and Pam (who lives in Lincoln and is a vendor for Frito-Lay). My husband (and father of those three) died in 1980, and I subsequently married Ted, who is now a retired judge and has a law practice in our home. He has three daughters: Dale Ann who is retired and lives in Portland, Or, that bastion of liberal politics; Bobbe who sells real estate to stars and starlets in Los Angeles; and Doni who lives in Bedford NY and Paris France and has a business called "Girls Guide to Paris." We have, between us, six kiddos, five kids-in-law, seven grand-kiddos, two great-grands, and several grand-cats and -dogs. Only one kiddo lives here, so I do all my grandmothering long distance. I am a dilettante living in Lincoln, where I am active on 8 boards and belong to a lotta clubs and organizations. I am also a writer and am currently working on a chick-lit novel and a screenplay. I have a couple books in print and in the Smithsonian Institution. I teach etiquette classes to children and adults and businesses. I love to cook. I take fashion very seriously and never leave the house without lipstick and earrings.
