Antara Pandit

Hi! I’m Antara and I live in Chennai, India. I am a doting Mom of two teddy bear looking boys. Going from a 9 am to 5 pm corporate job to writing, my passion lies in sharing my voice with to-be moms and moms all over the world, to address real everyday parenting challenges, at the same time integrating my personal experiences. I have always been a “let’s get the party started and finish a bottle of rose champagne” kind of girl. Even after becoming a mother, I am still that “let’s get the party started and finish a bottle of rose champagne” kind of girl. My mantra – work hard, play hard and be a mom!

Anya Bellow

Hey Y’all!

To be plain, I’m Anya’. I’m also a mother to a little boy named Jaxson, a finace’ to a stud, a dog owner to a very hyper boxer, a graduate student who complains about her thesis every day, a daughter, sister, and friend. I’m really a simple woman but I do enjoy adventure from time to time.

Unlike most people, I enjoy my alone time a lot. I’m a firm believer in the four F’s in life: Faith, Family, Food, and Football (Go Cowboys!). In other words, I’m always praying, laughing, eating, and cheering! I just recently began blogging about a year ago and I love it; I never knew sharing could be so therapeutic.

I hope to share more with you all! :)

Ashley Bebensee

Hi! I’m Ashley, a Nebraska girl living in Wyoming. I grew up on a farm in western Nebraska, graduated with a class of 28 and ventured to the middle of the state to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney. It was there I met the love of my life and husband, Brett. He is the most romantic, kind and intelligent person I know. And he makes me belly-laugh (truly the best kind). We have two cats and two dogs that are spoiled rotten. I am a content manager at a weekly newspaper, where I get to spend my days reading, writing, editing and designing a newspaper.

British television shows, wine and caramel apples from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory are my guilty pleasure. Shopping with my mom, going to the movies with my husband, long phone conversations with my dad and spoiling my nieces and nephews are just a few of my favorite activities. While I try to plan out all the details of life like the good control freak that I am, God is always throwing in curveballs. And so far, each of those curveballs have given me a bountiful amount of stress and love, adventure and joy, and more blessings than I could have ever imagined.

Bailey Koch

The story of Bailey Koch finding her love for and strength in writing begins with near tragedy. In February of 2012, Bailey’s husband was nearly killed in a head-on collision with a semi truck. As a method of getting information to friends and family, Bailey began a Caring Bridge page. Immediately, others began commenting that Bailey should be a writer. “Yeah right!” Bailey thought. “There’s no way I could do that!”

“Never Alone: A Husband and Wife’s Journey with Depression and Faith” was published in March 2015 and is written by Jeremy and Bailey Koch. It details their struggles with severe depression and the journey toward understanding their purpose, accepting help, and finding faith. High school sweethearts, Jeremy and Bailey know their lives were meant for each other and to help others by being honest about their story. They are proud parents of two beautiful, and often rambunctious, boys. Hudson and Asher are 10 and 7 years old. You can learn more about their journey and even purchase the eBook or paperback copy of “Never Alone” at www.jeremyandbailey.com.

Jeremy and Bailey found their purpose in helping others find hope when suffering from a disability, especially unseen illnesses like depression. Jeremy, who suffers from suicidal thoughts, continues to learn to live, not simply stay alive, through hope from God and the acceptance of help. Bailey is his biggest supporter and left her teaching job, after being in public education for seven years, to focus on what the two know to be God’s plan. Bailey now works as a Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and will graduate with her doctoral degree in Special Education from Walden University sometime in 2018. Jeremy and Bailey co-own and operate Natural Escapes, a landscaping and greenhouse services business that also includes a paint your own pottery and canvas family art studio. The passion to advocate for those who can’t easily advocate for themselves is strong. Bailey has a message of hope and acceptance for all; she has plans to completely demolish the societal stigma attached to mental illness.

In addition to her love for the Lord and her family, her great passions are coffee and collecting an exorbitant amount of books. Betty Streff

Betty Streff began her career as a customer service representative for a large corporation in Omaha. Four years later she found herself to be a farm wife in a small rural community with limited opportunities for women. After a humbling self assessment, she listed her assets as talents for sketching, sewing, and the natural ability to strike up conversations with complete strangers. Using these and her optimistic nature, she began stitching up some bibs and pillows for a craft show, who wouldn’t?

Over the next 25 years she became a serial entrepreneur obsessed with studying faith, spirituality, leadership, motivation, and management as she developed her businesses. Betty has spent the last few years working in corporate America in the hospitality and manufacturing world and she continues to immerse herself in the study of what makes people tick.

The explosive growth in the relatively recent science of positive psychology fascinates her. Betty devours everything she can find on the subject and is especially intrigued with people who thrive no matter the circumstances and in discovering ways that happiness and optimism can be learned. She is currently exploring ways of sharing and cultivating the exciting possibilities with both individuals and businesses.

She and her husband Steve have been married 45 years and are blessed with 2 incredible daughters, 2 fantastic sons-in-law and 6 amazing grandchildren.

One of my many mottos is “know better, do better” so I spend much of my spare time doing research on the many decisions I must make as a parent, a business owner, a board member, a spouse, or simply as an adult and I love passing some of that information on to my readers.

Candace Kikkert

Hi there! My name is Candace and I am, first and foremost, a daughter of the King. I am also a wife and mother to two beautiful girls under the age of two. You can often find me perusing the local thrift shop for a chance to reclaim the beauty of things thrown away and forgotten. I like to think that Christ does the same with us, as He looks past our brokenness and calls us beautiful. My hope is that the tedious and seemingly insignificant things like changing diapers, cleaning hands and faces, and preparing meals for my kids (only for them to be hungry again an hour later), will be the very things that show my girls how to be God-fearing, Jesus-loving, people-serving women. I find tremendous peace and joy in reflecting, writing and piecing together the lessons He teaches me daily. The bottom line? We all stand in need of grace.

Connie Jelkin

I have been a Librarian for over 25 years in both the public library and now in the school system. I really feel that it is important to teach kids the love of books and reading. That being said, I love going to all kinds of movies and plays with my husband, Jim. Everyone says that he is a very patient man.

Corey Urbanek

I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but have since been transplanted to Kearney, thanks to my husband, Bryce. We met while attending UNK, and ended up settling here in town. We’re also excited for this coming summer, as we’re expecting a set of twins, due in late June or early July 2015!

Growing up, I participated in everything fine arts – from band, to choir, to theater. (Yes, I play several instruments, including piano, French horn, mallet percussion, a little guitar, and I sing.) I earned a Music Business degree at UNK, but when I graduated during the recession, arts jobs were few and far between. So I took a position at NTV News, and have been there for the past 7 years in various roles. (Yes, that’s where I met Leslie Means!)

In my free time, I still love anything music, especially finding new songs and artists. But my other big passion is food! As my husband can tell you, I’m obsessed with the Food Network (I’ll even watch episodes I’ve seen already.) He’s often my guinea pig for new recipes – but he doesn’t seem to mind, as long as he gets fed! I’m excited to share some of those recipes with all of you, and I hope you enjoy them!

My greatest gift is my faith from my heavenly father! As a child, I didn’t grow up going to church but attended a few Sunday school classes. I was baptized at 13 and confirmed to Lutheran at 27. I didn’t have a bible growing up, but I knew who Jesus was. The only thing I had was a pocket bible of the New Testament. I also taught myself and recited the Lord’s Prayer when I was 8 years old. Meeting my husband was surely a God send! It lead me to worship God. I am a firm believer that strength comes from faith. I just can’t imagine my life not believing in the promises from God. My faith has lead me to where I am today. In turn has lead me to my path to righteousness and eternal salvation. Each day is a gift from God to us here on earth.

My hope is to inspire people. That’s what lead me to this sight over a year ago. After reading several authors blogs, I felt it was time to tell my story and spread the good news of Jesus!

Jamie Frerichs

I started to crave travel while I was in college, and no, I’m not just talking about Spring Break (although Mazatlan was a lot of fun). What began with venturing to a few away games to cheer on my beloved Cornhusker football team, quickly turned into spending a semester in the college program at Walt Disney World, becoming a nanny for a family living outside of New York City, completing a semester-long linguistic program in France, and eventually flying across the nation while working for a sales and strategic marketing firm.

I’m fortunate to have been a lot of places, but my story is not about where I’ve been – it’s about what I’ve been lucky enough to do. Everywhere I go I seek out the best local eateries, museums, and shops. From food truck to fine dining, from art studios to The Louvre, from farmers markets to high-end boutiques – I love discovering local treasures.

I’m a connoisseur of local culture and I’d like to share with you my culinary adventures. Pull up a chair, grab a fancy glass of whatever you’re thirsting for, and let’s eat. Bon appetit!

My name is Jennifer Miller, but I prefer simply Jen. I live in Hawley, MN. It is a small town built along the railroad tracks and surrounded by fields. I married my high school sweetheart in 2005 and we have two little boys, Jack (5) and Grey (3). Motherhood took me by surprise just before my 30th birthday and since then I have been stay at home mom and have loved every minute of the craziness. I am a staff writer for the Hawley Herald and do most the work from home. Being an introvert it took me out of my comfort zone, but so worth it because I love writing. It is something I do every day and it allows me to be home with my boys.

Now with her classically handsome boyfriend (yep, Cupid found her again) and their three, four-legged kids, she’s a part-time actor, full-time upholsterer, and witty blogger of Lucky Little Mustardseed: A Truthful Evolution of Self, Happiness, & Everything Creative in Between. Jennifer Myers

My name is Jen Myers. I am working, single mom of two boys Brady, 8, and Max, 3. I live in the little town of Palmer, Nebraska. Divorced for a year and a half, my life as I knew it now has become a discovery of a new life. I work so hard at being that mom who works full-time while still being the mom who makes all the homemade treats for class parties, cooks a homemade meal every night, and tells her boys she loves them as many times a day I can. I fail every day while trying to accomplish this but I get up the next day and try again. I am a firm believer that God has a plan for everyone. We may not know what that plan is and we may not like the route it takes us some days but we have to have faith. I have come to understand that everyone has a story to tell and usually someone out there in that great big world, someone can relate. So I am here to share what I live, succeed, and fail at hoping someone else understands.

Jennifer O'Brien

I am your average, not so average mom. From tattoos, piercings, crazy hair, and being in a relationship with the woman of my dreams – I am still just like you – I am human and I am a Mother. Julie Borm

Julie is a part-time strategic communications consultant and full-time wife and mama to two little boys. She’s a down-to-earth midwestern girl at heart, who has lived all over the country and now loves the fact she gets to raise her family in her home state of Ohio. Julie Everett

Cooking was not something that came easy to me. When I first got married, I wasn’t even sure how to boil water! Over the years–with many attempts at trying new things, I have come to love cooking for my family and friends. Cooking is a way to express yourself and the love in your heart. It takes a little effort, but is certainly worth it when you fill the tummies of those who are most important to you.

I like to keep things simple in the kitchen. (The fewer ingredients, the better!) It is my goal to share with you some of my family’s favorites, keeping it simple and requiring little time from you and your already busy schedule.

Along with cooking, I have a profound love of teaching–children and adults alike. I am an Instructional Learning Coach for Kearney Public Schools. I live on a lake along the Platte River with my husband, Jason. We have three children: Brittany, Gordon, and Colvin. I enjoy running, biking, long walks, painting, decorating, hanging on the beach, reading, and of course, cooking and eating!

If you would like to contact me, you may do so by emailing me at: [email protected]

While balancing married life and a full time job, Kate has just enough time to do what she loves the most, writing. Follow Kate’s hilarious and unconventional blog, the vaultuncensored.com, about life as a thirty-something year old woman among a world of debauchery, annoyances and every day oddities that make life a little more interesting.

Katherine Kring

My name is Katherine Kring, although most people call me Kaile. You can blame my parents for the confusing two name situation. I was born in Lincoln, NE and raised in Minden, a small farming community in central Nebraska. I have adorably, in love parents and two siblings, one older brother and one younger sister.

Growing up it was apparent that I was kind of the odd man out. Both of my siblings are very blonde, athletic and competitive…and then there’s me. I enjoy singing, theater, speech, writing, and reading. And unfortunately, do not have blonde hair.

After high school, I ventured off to the big city of Omaha, NE where my, then boyfriend, was stationed with the Airforce (He is now my Airforce husband and I have since followed him to Ohio.) I attended Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing and Allied Health in Omaha and pursued a career in Respiratory Care. I now get to have the initials RRT after my name because I am officially a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

My hubby and I live in Ohio with our two crazy, hyper dogs. We love to binge watch netflix, go antiquing, and travel. I also love my Lord, Jesus Christ and enjoy attending our church and reading my bible.

Over 50,000 visitors have attended KACM in 2014 of which over half were museum members.

KACM is a magical place where children explore the world around them through interactive exhibits and educational programming. At KACM we enjoy helping provide a place where family and community come together to make the world a better place for future generations.

Her “home-home” is her source of peace, calm and inspiration. Her welcome note on her blog says it all: “I love to write and loose the thoughts that are rambling through my mind. Kristin Majerus

Hello! My name is Kristin. I’m originally from central Nebraska but currently find myself in Omaha. My heart belongs to two people: 1. Jesus and 2. my husband and cat daddy Taylor. I work as a Personal Trainer and Taylor is working his way through Physical Therapy school, so I’m rocking the whole “married with no kids while my husband is in school single income family” thing. While Taylor is up to his eyeballs in textbooks and thera-bands, I can usually be found reading, writing, or working on making our one bedroom apartment a home. I’m so excited to share pieces of my life with you guys, and hope you find joy in following along. You can learn everything about me and then some at my personal blog https://kristinmajerus.wordpress.com/

Kristin McCarthy

Kristin is a Stay At Home Mom of four little ladies and one giant fur baby. She spends the majority of her day vacuuming up Shopkins and Legos and trying to keep up with her little blonde-tourage. Kristin is writer and editor at Suburban Misfit Mom and a columnist at Practical Politicking. She can also be found on Blunt Moms, Sammiches and Psych Meds, Red Tricycle, and Parent Co.

Kristin Streff Barnett

Hi, I’m Kristin. I am a feisty and frugal 30-something with a love for travel and adventure. My younger self pursued a career as an attorney, hated the practice of law and found myself unemployed during the Great Recession. Just bloody awesome. So I decided to take control and follow my true passions: traveling, writing (aka I’m not a millionaire), and making the world just a little bit smaller by encouraging other non-millionaires to travel to their heart’s content. My website www.abroadawakening.com/ and books (available on amazon.com under “abroad awakening) are dedicated to this cause.
In my spare time, wait….what spare time? Let me try that again….I spend all my time working my day job, enhancing and growing Abroad Awakening, traveling (obviously), and spending time with my husband and two four legged children: Scout and Mose (don’t ask). We live a simple life, explore the world, and always seek new experiences and challenges. I have been truly blessed.

Kristin Whiteside

Kristin is a perfectly imperfect mom of two and loves sharing her journey of growing with her kids. More than likely she will have a glass of red wine in hand and befriend you instantly! Krystal Abbott

My name is Krystal and I am a first time mum. I’m a fiance, a daughter, a sister and a friend (sometimes neglectful) and a paramedic. I live in a small country town in Queensland Australia and am the first Australian contributor to Her View From Home – something I am very proud and excited about. I love my Australian culture and lifestyle and you’ll have to promise to cut me a little slack when you see me writing things like ‘mum’ instead of ‘mom’.

My blog The Daily Femme, ( http://www.dailyfemme.com/ ) is for Entrepreneurial Lady Bosses. I have a passion for small business management and teach women how to manage their small business as well as their life – because let’s face it, we are busy!!

At the centre of my universe are Alexander and Steve. Alexander is my son who makes me smile, laugh and cry just about every single day (usually tears of joy because I am so proud of his milestones and also scared of how quickly he is growing up). Steve is my amazing fiance, he stands beside me and supports me through everything. I could write forever about these two but I promise you’ll hear more about them soon.

Krystyna Schexnayder

Krystyna’s motto is Love Yourself to Wealth, because she wants to spread the idea that to begin a new journey and commit to a new way of living towards anything, it takes a lot of inner work; Inner work that your heart and mind must align to, so that your outward living experience is a mirror image of who you want to be.

Recently relocating to Atlanta, GA, she plans to continue to grow her business as a financial educator.

Kyle Means

Kyle Means is the Director of Marketing for the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He enjoyed a fulfilling career in Sports & Entertainment prior to his work in higher education. Past stops include HuskerVision, Houston Rockets/Toyota Center, and the Tri-City Storm/Viaero Event Center. Kyle left the sports biz in 2014 to pursue a career more focused on marketing where he can use a combination of strategic and creative skills. Plus, he now has a few more nights and weekends to spend with his awesome family including his wife (HerViewFromHome founder) Leslie Means, and their two daughters Ella and Grace.

Kyle still enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports. The competitive, yet unifying, nature of sports is a strangely beautiful concept that he loves. When he’s not enhancing the brand at UNK, spending time with family or watching/playing sports, Kyle can usually be found volunteering at First Lutheran Church where likes to display a strong faith and give back to the community.

We are Lincoln, Nebraska natives but currently reside in Kansas City. Follow along our journey renovating our 1973 Kansas City fixer upper on our blog thehappycampblog.com

Lacey Burch

I’m your typical desert mom; surrounded by cacti, while navigating the treacherous landscape called parenthood. I’m always up for a good challenge and making new connections with those who enjoy expanding their mind just as I do. My most over-used statement would have to be,”Life is too short to settle.”I am definitely a work in progress, but who isn’t, right?

Lacey Noland

Lacey Noland is called many names – Mama from her 3-year-old twin daughters, “Duchess” from her husband, Coach and “Lou” as nicknamed by her sisters. From Ocean Springs, Mississippi, she is a contributing writer for Her View From Home as well as a contributor to Parents & Kids Magazine and head writer/editor of her personal blog, http://www.loutimestwo.com/
She began writing to cater content for young, millennial moms who are right in the trenches of parenting, and who realize that the idea of “perfect parenting” is a sham. Her writing focuses on uplifting women who feel pressure in the world of motherhood and helps them realize being a mom consists of appreciating all the job has to offer: The good, bad, disgusting, embarrassing, laugh-until-you-cry, rock-your-baby-to-sleep-all-night, true perfection kind of moments. In her spare time, she loves baseball games, painting, decorating, and spending time at the beach. You can find her at her blog or on Facebook, Twitter, and Google +.

Laura Blucker

After five years working in broadcast journalism as a producer for Nashville’s ABC news affiliate, Laura Blucker felt called to be more hands on in facing the problems of the world rather than telling people about them. That’s when she switched to the world of nonprofits, working for Blood:Water, an organization striving to end the HIV/AIDS and water crises in Africa. Laura loved her time at Blood:Water, but let the job go to follow and support her husband’s career, which at the time was serving in the United States Navy. While Laura’s heart still beats with nonprofits, she most recently took on her hardest and most rewarding job yet — becoming a new mom. Laura, her husband, and their wonderful one year old, Lucy, are back in Nashville, surrounded by family, friends, and, of course, music.

Lauren Bonk is a freelance copywriter out of Omaha who’s been wrangling family life and words since 2010. She always shows up with a healthy dose of optimism, a mug of coffee in her hand, and a solid high five. (But not too solid, because coffee is hot and that would be painful.)

Leah Dunklau-Scheppers

Remember when you were a child and your mother would lay out your outfit the night before? All you had to do was get up, brush your teeth (and your hair if she was lucky), throw on the pieces she chose and run out the door! Wouldn’t it be great if there was someone who did this for you as an adult?

Well, you’re in luck! As a wardrobe stylist and personal shopper, I work with individual clients to create the perfect wardrobe. Yes, I shop for a living! And while the daily challenge to select a collection of “perfect” pieces can be daunting, it is absolutely something I love to do. Each client brings a new challenge- one I am happy to take on and bring out their personal style and make the inner beauty match the outside.

And now, I am very excited to bring this vast style knowledge to HVFH! Stay tuned for all things fashion!

Lisa Qualls

I’m the mother of twelve by birth and adoption – six boys and six girls. Once lost and now found, I’ve been brought to my knees by grace.
Thirty-two years ago I married Russ, the greatest blessing of my life.

Our adoption journey has been marked by joy as well as challenges of trauma and attachment. I earnestly believe in the power of Jesus to heal children’s broken hearts and wounded minds. My life has also been changed by grief; my daughter, Kalkidan, went to be with Jesus on December 27, 2014. Six months later, I lost my son, Nick.

I believe with all my heart that God is faithful, he is good, and my life is entirely in his hands. He gives me the courage to live, and love, and fills my heart with hope and gratitude even in the presence of suffering. Find my website, Thankful Moms, at http://thankfulmoms.com/her-view-welcome/
