6. You’re not done learning
Never stop improving yourself. You’re not perfect. (Neither am I. Neither is anyone I know.) Always look for ways to be a better version of you and to further your skill set.
7. You’re going to make mistakes
If you don’t, you’re not doing it right. (Come on. It was a little funny.) Okay, but seriously… When (not if) you make a mistake, focus less on the mistake itself and more on what you can learn from it going forward and ALWAYS own up to it. Turn it into a learning experience rather than a failure.
8. You’re going to do some things you don’t like
Not everything you do is going to be a walk in the park. Some things are going to be hard, some are going to be mentally draining, some things are going to be tedious and mind-numbing. You’ll have to do them anyway.
9. Get out of your comfort zone
Less than a month after taking the position at Transformation Marketing, my boss asked me to do something I’d never done before. I could have told her that I didn’t know how, but instead, I did some research, figured it out, and completed the project. When something new crosses your path, embrace the challenge.
10. Enjoy your life
This is the last thing I’ll leave you with, today. There will be ups and downs. It’s not always going to be easy. But at the end of it all, be sure you’ve lived a life that you’re proud of and happy with.
