Her Delightful Find; The Chocolate Bar!

Last week a friend and I decided to meet up for a couple drinks, coffee and good food.

Um – it had been a while since we’d chatted. When I say “a while” I mean at least 12 years, if not longer.

Yea. That’s too long.

We decided to meet somewhere in the middle which for us was Grand Island. My sister told me to check out a place called, “The Chocolate Bar.”

Cause really? What’s better than an old friend, chocolate and a drink?

Not much, friends. Not much.

Even though I’m a HUGE fan of small town “nooks” AKA The Chubby Monkey, there are days when I want to feel like I’m living in a loft in New York City (like I thought I would when I was 21).

That’s why when I stumble across a gem (a SERIOUS GEM) in Central Nebraska, I get a little giddy.

Guys, this place had fun drinks…

and a full menu…

and chocolate…

and a gorgeous “city” atmosphere…

and fanciful lattes…

I had ~~one~~ two drinks called, “The Grinch.” I don’t know what it was, but it was tasty. I also snacked on a tasty panini and ended the evening with a skinny, caramel latte. (Just cause the “skinny” part made me feel better after downing plenty of calories.)

It was the perfect atmosphere to relax and chat the night away.

Seriously. Over 12 years, Darb? That’s too long. Let’s not let that happen again…m-kay?

P.S. They were crazy nice, too. As in, they let me take lots of random pictures and were patient with my random questions. One guy even walked out into the middle of the street to flag me down while I was driving around looking for the place. Big city feel, small town Nebraska kindness. Can’t beat that!
