Her Pinspiration: POPcorn on the Cob

Pop corn is in season!  In our house we love to pop the corn right off the cob.  Even adults who haven’t seen this before are impressed!

POPcorn on the Cob

What you need:

Pop corn on the Cob

A small paperbag (lunch bag size)

A microwave

What you do:

Place your ear of corn in the paperbag.

Fold the paper bag over (to contain the corn)

Set the microwave for about 3:00.  But be aware that it may all be popped by 2 or 2:30.

You’ll want to listen for a popping slow down.  It will get burnt if you leave it in there too long.

You get a big bowlful from one ear.

And the ear looks like this:

Where do you get the ear of pop corn?

I’d suggest a local farmer’s market or pumpkin patch.

We were lucky enough that our neighbor’s field was pop corn this year.  Madison and her Nana went out and experienced actually picking the ear off the stalk.

And while we’re talking about using the natural seasonal projects, I love this ‘cat tails’ project sent to me by one of my best friends.  I’d love to see projects YOU’ve done with your kiddos, too!
