Ladies,
I have a confession to make.
If I haven’t gotten around to something, I blame my baby. Case in point:
Chaaron, are you still running?
… oh you know, I haven’t really found my balance yet. I just had a baby, but I’m planning on racing again. I signed up for the Marine Corps 10K, so that will be motivation to get my pace back up.
Just had a baby?
…yeah.
How old is your baby?
(cough) 11 months (cough)
So, not really “just” had a baby. I know that every year is a smaller percentage of your life, so they feel faster and faster, but honestly, I have no idea how 11 months have passed. If you asked pre-baby Chaaron if she’d still be working to get her running pace back almost a year after giving birth, she would have laughed in your face.
I think the thing that has humbled me the most about being a mom is finding my limits. I’m not running as far or as fast. Things still don’t fit the way that I think they should. Home projects are still waiting to be done.
But let’s admit it; those things will still be around tomorrow. I just had a baby. So I’ve got baby stuff to attend to.
