Midsummer

Written by Rachel Gnagy

I’m sure you’ve already thought this to yourself… but can you believe it’s July 24 already?? Summer has been going by quickly! The past few months have been very busy with Sam’s work and our photography business, plus adjusting to life with a baby.

We photographed one wedding in Arnold, Nebraska, which gave us beautiful landscapes for backgrounds. The rolling hills and bluffs were so different from what we are used to around Hastings. I loved seeing the green fields and hills covered with trees.

We’ve been spending a number of evenings at the park. We love meeting up with friends and enjoying the warm summer weather with our kids. I have picked up running again and am using the Couch to 5K plan to help me reach my goal of running a 5K this fall. This race in Kearney sounds like a lot of fun, plus there is a great cause – helping a family adopt a little boy from China!

One evening we looked at the sky and knew there was going to be a great sunset. We packed up Isaiah in his carseat and drove out of town to make some pictures. Isaiah enjoyed being outside. He is definitely going to be a little boy that loves playing in the Great Outdoors!

We’ve definitely made some great memories this summer and there is still a lot to look forward to during these last weeks. We have one more wedding to shoot as well as several senior sessions scheduled; our annual camping trip over Labor Day weekend; and Sam and I are planning a trip to Colorado to celebrate our fourth anniversary.

What are you looking forward to during the rest of the summer?
