#MoreThanMean Campaign Shares The Truth Many Women In Sports (and media) Experience

#MoreThanMean Campaign Shares The Truth Many Women In Sports (and media) Experience www.herviewfromhome.com
Written by Leslie Means

You guys, I’m so saddened by this.  If you’ve been in this industry – whether media, blogging or any platform where your identity is watched or read, you know this truth.

People are mean.  More than mean.

Just Not Sports…”shows what happens when real sports fans read real online comments made about women sports reporters … right to their faces.”

The result?  An ugly truth that is happening in the world of social media and beyond.  Stop it.  You would likely never say these things to women in person.  Stop typing and hiding behind your computer.  Stop the terrible, cruel, more than mean comments.  “People are encouraged to share the video with hashtag #MoreThanMean to raise awareness about online harassment of women sports reporters.”

Watch the video below – and then follow Just Not Sports for more.  And please show kindness and teach others to do so.

*We should note, the language is not appropriate (but real) and bleeped.

  • I’m sick to my stomach, watching this. Sick. And I want to cry. I just can’t understand evil like this. Hatred like this. WHY?

Those men- bless them. I can imagine how hard it was for them to read those. And for the beautiful, brave, smart and talented women in the industry-

    Keep standing. Straight. UP.

    YOU are amazing.

I’m really REALLY glad this campaign is out there. Sharing.
