Recently my mom, sister, dad and Grandma Dot came to visit.
My sister brought a BUNCH of apples from her apple trees and I already had a BUNCH of pears from my Father in Law’s pear tree.
So – of course – it was time to make a crisp.
We gals just threw some things together and we all LOVED it. So my mom asked me to write it down.
When I do that, I always write it down here.
Here it is Mom:
The Apple Mix:
6-7 Apples and Pears (any mix)
3/4 c Sugar
1 T flour
1 tsp cinnamon
The “Crisp” Mix:
1 c Instant Oats
1 c Brown Sugar
1 c Flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 Stick Butter – melted
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Peel, core and cube your fruit.
Mix in the other ‘Apple mix’ ingredients and place in greased 8×8 baking pan.
In a separate bowl, mix the ‘Crisp mix’. Stir until the mix is crumbly.
Then place on top of Apple/Pear mix.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the sides are bubbling.
Enjoy!! (Maybe with a little ice cream??)
