New Paint Has Her Dreaming

27 Sep, 2012

My husband just painted our kitchen.  It is wonderful.  To tell you the truth, I’ve been avoiding painting because I’m afraid to change the white.  I love the angles and shadows in our vaulted ceiling.  And I’m afraid I’m going to pick the wrong color.  There is paint in my children’s rooms.  But in our living space, there is no color… until now.

(Ignore the mess.  This was during.)

The paint has me dreaming.  Dreaming of more paint.  I’m also dreaming of making changes to my house.

You wanna know what helps me dream?  Pinterest.

Come along with me as I walk you through my ‘Pin-spired’ dream house.  Maybe these will inspire you as well!

Since we’re already in the kitchen, let me show you around.

Normally I don’t show guests under my sink, but since I’m dreaming — here it is:

Hmmm…. or maybe in my dream home it looks like this since I have kids:

Speaking of kids, let’s visit the basement.  I have big dreams for my basement.  First a reading nook tucked under the stairs.

Of course a craft area for the kids:

And plenty of cool storage ideas for all those toys in the toy room:

But there’s room for adults in my dream basement.  Check it out:

 A simple city garden:

And of course a wonderful sitting area for the adults complete with a built-in fire pit.

Who knows?  One day I might actually get to some of these projects.  My husband is seriously amazing.  I’m sure he and his father could accomplish any/all of these projects given the time and desire.  (That part is true.  Not a dream.)

Stay tuned.

If I do any of these projects, you’ll be the first to know.  And I’ll post step-by-step success and/or failure stories.

Thanks for living the dream with me!  Tell me what you’d like to see in your home!
