Many people are concerned about “factory farms” taking over family farms today. The term “factory farm” is most often used by critics of modern production agriculture. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports the vast majority of farms and ranches in the United States are family owned and operated – in fact, 96 percent of the 2.2 million farms in the United States are family farms – that includes my family farm!
And we want to remain viable and sustainable to pass down our farm to the next generation. Speaking of the next generation, this recipe is one of my son, Emmet’s favorites! I’m sure he wouldn’t mind passing down this recipe as well.
