Can you believe July is here already? Summer is officially in full swing and going by quickly.
I’m generally a fall-and-spring kind of person… I love the cooler temperatures, jackets and boots, and the changing seasons. Summer is just. so. hot. But there are things I love about summertime.
We haven’t camped with Isaiah yet but we are looking forward to our first camping trip as a family. We enjoy camping at Fort Kearny and family camp at Timberlake Ranch Camp is a Labor Day weekend tradition for our families. I love sitting by the campfire in the cool mornings, the pretty landscapes, and (of course!) the food.
The county fair was a huge part of my summer as I was growing up. My siblings and I participated in 4-H and I always looked forward to the week of fair and going to the rodeo. I still love walking through the exhibits and watching the rodeo competitors.
Sweet corn is a summertime staple in Nebraska. Sam and I both love having fresh corn when it’s in season. We’ve always wanted to try grilling it – maybe we will finally get around to experimenting with that this year!
The light of a summer evening is absolutely beautiful. Everything becomes more vibrant. I love finding a place to watch the sun set and soak in in those last few moments of sunshine.
What are your summertime favorites?
