We are back with a SUPER fun SUPERHERO BIRTHDAY PARTY. I have been crushing on all of the superhero ideas that I come across. This post has been such a joy to write and be ready to have “ super powers” of your own to plan a SUPERHERO party. Let’s go!

INVITATIONS AND PAPER GOODS:

You want your invitation to arrive with a punch, and these superhero invitations will deliver. Designed with the comic book feel in mind, they are an awesome way to set the tone of the party. When designing birthday invitations I love including a picture of the guest of honor. Personally I think it is so much fun to receive a picture of my loved ones every year at the same time (other than Christmas) and see how they grow. Have fun when selecting a picture and let their personality shine.  This does not have to be a professional photos ~ a snapshot of them playing, getting in trouble, or even just giving their cheesiest grin will work great.

Throughout this post you will find tons of printable signs, food flags, cake decorations, and so much more!  I’ve also included name-tags and thank you notes to help you power through. Print them out and amaze your guests with your attention to detail!

DÉCOR AND DISPLAY:

This party is packed full of “wow factors” that will transform any room or outdoor space into a city of crime in need of your heroes to save the day! After choosing the space you want as the main attraction, cover one wall with a solid color sheet of fabric or plastic tablecloth.  This will create the backdrop to your city of doom. Now build the cityscape by taking old boxes (shoe boxes, pop boxes anything you have will work), paint them black and add stripes, squares or any kind of shape in white, grey or silver to create the appearance of windows. Finish off the look by adding custom signs that look like they are straight out of a comic book.

Keep the color and theme going around the room by using the same plastic or fabric to set the buffet table and dessert bar and hang this DIY cartoon book banner. It is super simple to make and will be the perfect touch that creates a cohesive look from the main activity center to the food line. Step by step instructions for the comic book banner are listed below. If you are really crafty and want the ultimate superhero accessory, create a phone booth that your heroes can make their entrance through. What a photo opportunity to catch all of the partygoers bursting through to save the day!

TIP ALERT: The phone booth photo ops would also make the cutest favors for the guests and their families. If you have a photo printer at home, take the picture with a digital camera, print out and place it in an inexpensive plastic frame personalized for each guest and decorated to match the party.  These superheroes will never forget the great time they had and you will be the “Super” mom everyone loves!

THE MAIN DISH AND DESSERTS:

A superhero party is perfect for a backyard bar-b-cue or buffet style indoors. Do you want to get children of all ages (adults included) to eat more vegetables? Add the perfect accessory – a sign showing their superhero power. Complete the main course by adding in the “Wonder Dog” and you have a well-balanced meal.

Now it wouldn’t be a party if there wasn’t a dessert table.  Grab a couple of colorful buckets and fill them with fun color candies from lollipops, gummi bears to ring pops. Print extra fun graphics and strategically place them around your candy arrangement to play with height and color in the display. If you want to get super fancy, these Superhero Cookie Pops will be the perfect touch. Finish the celebration off with a simple round cake you can decorate and add the cake top printables.

ACTIVITIES:

There are so many different activities you could do at a Superhero party so we will just name a couple. Depending on the age of the heroes you could have them design their own superhero cape. Click below for a step-by-step tutorial. At the end of the party let the superheroes do their deed by destroying the crime filled city. They will have a ball smashing and crashing the city! They will also be using so much energy they will probably sleep like a baby on the way home. Thanks to our heroes the city is safe again!

I hope I have come to the rescue with this superhero party! If you would like Ally B Designs create custom invitations or print any of the signs for you contact us today by calling 308.224.3832 or emailing info@allybdesigns.com.
