We are expecting our third child!
This was unplanned and unexpected for us, but we are encouraged by knowing that this is what God planned. I was taken completely by surprise and had a day or two of panic… but we are genuinely excited for this precious new addition to our family. I am kind of sad to say goodbye to my Honda CRV though! I love that car.
As a photographer, pictures are important to me. Sam and I have enjoyed using pictures to announce our pregnancies to friends and family. Today I wanted to share our announcements, as well as a few that I’ve done for family members.
Sam came up with this idea when we were expecting our firstborn, Isaiah. We had been hoping to get pregnant for well over a year (seemed so much longer than that at the time!). It was so exciting to share the news with our family! We printed this picture on notecards and put them in envelopes to pass out or mail to family members.
I have been a book lover ever since I learned to read. This was a spin-off of an idea I saw on Pinterest. I loved the idea of using books for an announcement. We printed this out and shared it with family as ‘our new family picture’. When we handed it to Sam’s brother he looked at it, said ‘Cool,’ and proceeded to start talking about something completely different. We made him look a little bit closer and eventually he got the message!
My cousin and I consider ourselves basically sisters. We’ve grown up together, traveled across the world together, and now consider ourselves blessed to be raising our families together.
We are both expecting our third baby now and she is due in less than a month! This was their announcement for Baby #3. So cute!
My sister-in-law and I had babies two weeks apart last year, and are expecting babies about two months apart now! While on our family vacation in Colorado, we took this picture and slipped it in with ‘normal’ vacation photos on Facebook. I loved her idea!
How have you announced your pregnancies with friends and family? Do you try and tell people in person or do a massive Facebook announcement? I’d love to hear your stories!
