Ugly words at home: You are fat, you are stupid, did I mention you are ugly as a mud hen?
Beautiful words away from home: Great job, you can do anything you put your mind to, I love your hair! You should speak in front of others more often, the message you sent was great! I love you to the moon and back, while Grandma warmed my feet up before bed.
My Words: I just want to get out in the world and be somebody. I want to be beautiful; I want to do great things. I want positive words not ugly words! I want to look and feel beautiful!
College Here I come!
BEAUTIFUL: Be my one and only, here’s a rose, it reminds me of how pretty you are! Be my only girl! No more dating others and you don’t need friends, you have me and that is all you need.
UGLY: You are loud like a redneck when you visit the farm. I hate your clothes, and they all make you look fat. You are less than intelligent, you know nothing, and you can’t speak properly so it’s my right to have other women. But, when I want you, you better give it to me! No, I really don’t care how you feel, it is all about me!
My Words: I must have done something in a previous life to deserve all of this; after all, my own being in the beginning was about me being ugly, stupid and fat. So, this is my destiny.
My friends’ words: You are beautiful and I want you to look at this. You are beautiful, you deserve respect, you can do anything you put your mind to, you are valued.
Epiphany!!! I do not have to live my script, I created my own script and I am beautiful, I am smart, I am a survivor! My journey was not given to me by chance, it was given to me to be strong, and it was given to me to help others along this path of life. Blessed am I!
Matthew 5: 3-12
He said:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
