As a Black Mom, I Don’t Want To Question if I Belong

It happened again today. I was the only Black mom at the park. I watched my oldest roam freely around the equipment, doing my best to keep an eye on him while I stuck close by his younger sister. At times, I lost him in the sea of kids playing, but he always found his way back to me. I suppose that’s one benefit of my brown skin. I stand out.
