I remember my dad during the weeks leading up to h

I remember my dad during the weeks leading up to his death. He kept telling me how proud he was of me, he kept telling me how thankful he was for me, and he just kept thanking me “for everything” I’ve done for him. He would say this about every day, as I literally visited with him every single day until he died.⁣
⁣
He’d told me all these things before but I think it’s something about knowing that your time on this side of Heaven is winding down that urges you a bit more to tell the people you love just how much you love them.⁣
⁣
I remember walking into his hospital room one morning after my mom had spent the entire night there. He said, “Your mom and I had a long talk." He said that he told her he was sorry for things he’s done and said over the years.⁣
⁣
And although I don’t know the full contents of those conversations Mom and Dad had, before he left this earth, I know it was what he needed to make amends. And I know that he was totally at peace.⁣
⁣
It made me think about the way that we live out our lives here on Earth. We often live with grudges, unforgiveness, and even with great things that we think of others left unsaid . . .⁣
⁣
So, maybe this is a nudge for you and for me today to make amends, to forgive, to tell the ones you love that you are proud of them, that you love them, that you are rooting them on, and that you are thinking of them.⁣
⁣
Because in the end, we'd wish we had laughed a little longer, loved a little harder, forgiven a little sooner, and let go a little faster.⁣

My grandma is known for her noodle recipe which was passed down to her from my great grandma and was recently passed down to me. ⁣

It's the best noodle you’ll ever eat and it’s famous in our family. For me this recipe is comfort . . . family . . . Sunday dinner memories. ⁣

I took the recipe my grandma wrote out for me and had it made into a backsplash for my pantry area. We were all so excited to reveal it to Grandma today. It’s one of my very favorite parts of our home. 💕⁣
