Long's Peak Baked Beans

Baked beans have never tasted so good! Feeds a crowd but could easily be halved for a smaller family.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 5 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 -- 46-54 oz. can pork and beans drained
  • 1 -- 15 oz. can black-eyed peas drained
  • 1 -- 15 oz. can red kidney beans drained and rinsed

Instructions

  • In a skillet, brown hamburger, bacon and onion. Drain well.
  • Combine remaining ingredients, except beans, and mix well.
  • Mix in beans.
  • Cover and bake at 350* for 1 hour.

Notes

Best if left in refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours before baking.
