Dear Daughter,
As you turn 13, I can hardly believe how quickly the time has flown by. It feels like just yesterday you were celebrating your seventh birthday in that adorable pink and yellow pineapple sundress from Children’s Place. Back then, you were all about American Girl dolls and Barbies, and now those toys are tucked away, only to be revisited when our friends with little ones come over.
Now, you’re on the brink of your teenage years, finding delight walking the aisles of Ulta and Sephora as you explore your love for all things skincare. You’ve introduced me to some of the best routines and products, from your favorite Sol de Janeiro sprays to tips that elevate our beauty game. It’s delightful to see you take charge—waving my hair with your hot iron for special occasions and sharing your expertise makes my heart swell.
Your friendships are blossoming, and you’re learning the importance of setting healthy boundaries. Watching you discover your passions and stand firmly in your values is inspiring. I strive to instill in you the confidence to embrace who God created you to be and to remain discerning in every situation.
Your ability to articulate your feelings and make thoughtful decisions is extraordinary. You’ve developed a spicier side, reserved for those closest to you, and you’ve grown into an enthusiastic baker, treating our family to your delightful chocolate chip cookies and refreshing acai smoothie bowls.
Time seems to slip through our fingers faster than I ever imagined, and I know it will continue to do so. The saying “the days are long but the years are short” couldn’t ring truer, especially when I stumble upon one of your Barbie accessories lying around the house, reminding me of your childhood.
As you continue to grow, I’m filled with joy as I witness the young woman you are becoming: strong, smart, confident, faith-filled, beautiful, and dedicated to serving others. And, of course, still maintaining your love for skincare.
I love you dearly,
Mama
