Francine started out her career working as a Veterinary Technician in Animal hospitals. Later in her career, she worked as an Animal Control Officer. After several years, she launched her writing career and began writing articles for animal magazines, mainly about nutrition and behavioral issues in cats. Eventually, she started writing science fiction books for middle-school-aged kids, then moved on to writing short stories for younger children.

Francine has 3 published children's books. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and now lives in Virginia, with her husband, two sons, and her cat Zoey.
