I’ve been hearing so many people talk about being grateful for the moments we get to spend with our families during these unusual times—and while that’s true, I can’t help but wonder about those whose home lives are hard.
The ones who looked forward to leaving every day for school so they could escape the constant escalation at home.
The ones who put in extra hours at work to find the approval that was always lacking from the ones they love.
The ones who had just started a new project they were passionate about, only to now find themselves in an oh-so-empty house, surrounded by all the heavy memories of a life that used to be.

I see you.
And I’m so very, very sorry.
This whole quarantine thing isn’t easy, but it’s particularly hard when the place you live isn’t peaceful.
If there’s anything I’d like to tell you, it’s just one simple thing—Jesus is there.
Right here, right in this moment.

Even in the tears and the frustration or the questions and the fights.
You are not alone.
When you feel like you don’t have anywhere to escape, Jesus is there.
When you feel as though you’re struggling to just make it through the day, Jesus is there.
When you feel worn down from the burden of it all, Jesus is there, too.
