Taking senior pictures is a rite of passage for most teens, but for one Nebraska senior it’s become more than just a collection of memories.
Aurora High School student Julie Yllescas had a photoshoot with local photographer Susanne Beckmann over the weekend that included a very special request: Julie wanted her dad in a photo with her.
Julie’s father died 11 years ago.
Captain Robert Yllescas was severely wounded by an IED in Afghanistan in 2008 and later died in Maryland from his injuries.
But Julie knew she wanted her father beside her as she enters her senior year of high school.
When the teen asked Beckmann, a military wife who owns and operates Snapshots by Suz in Denton, NE, if she could create an “angel picture” with her dad’s image next to her, Beckmann set to work layering a near-translucent image of Captain Yllescas with a photo of his daughter Julie.
The result has been shared more than 26-thousand times on Facebook and will undoubtedly become a treasured keepsake for a devoted daughter.
