Apple Nut Coffee Cake

sour cream

shortening

sugar

peeled
diced apples

brown sugar

cinnamon

margarine

Instructions
Combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt) and set aside.
Cream the sour cream, shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla with a mixer.
Add the dry ingredients and mix well.
Stir in the diced apples.
Spread into a greased 9x9 pan.
Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, margarine, and nuts (optional) and sprinkle over the batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the pan.
Notes
This can be eaten for breakfast or as a dessert with whipped cream!
