Our Keepsake Journal is Here! 🎉

A friend once asked me if I wanted to know what another mom said about me behind my back.

I politely said, “No, thank you.”

To this day I still have no idea what was said about me.

And friend, it doesn’t matter.

RELATED: I No Longer Sit At Tables Where I Might Be The Topic When I Get Up

What I do know is that I saw this mom a few weeks later at the grocery store and greeted her with a smile and open arms.

To this day, she has no idea that I am aware of the fact that she said something unkind behind my back.

And friend, it doesn’t matter.

The tables you aren’t invited to sit at don’t matter.

The opinions of others don’t matter.

What another person thinks about you really doesn’t matter.

It has taken me almost 32 years now to realize that the one and only thing that matters when it comes to what is “said” about me is what God says about me.

In case you need a little reminder today, in case you need your heart filled to the brim with wonderful words about you, here are a few:

“She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her” (Proverbs 3:15).

RELATED: Sister, Don’t You Dare Question Your Worth

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come” (Proverbs 31:25).

“God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns” (Psalm 46:5).

When you see yourself in the light of God’s love for you, the thoughts, words, and opinions of those around you all start to fade away.

You learn to say no thank you and gracefully move on with your life.

Stop Apologizing For Who God Made You To Be

In: Faith, Living

I’ve spent most of my life being a doormat. I was terrified that someone wouldn’t like me, and I spent my time and energy trying to make sure I never rocked the boat or took too much of a stand. And honestly, that was an exhausting and miserable way to live. Because I couldn’t maintain that while also being who God created me to be. I don’t really know when that changed. I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to change that. I think it was more that slowly, God worked on my heart and one day I...

God is For Me www.herviewfromhome.com

God is for me. In my anxiety and worries, He embraces me with a love that holds no fear. The purest form of love there is, and a love I have immediate access to. In my doubts, when I’m feeling like I’m not good enough or will never amount to anything, He reminds me that He isn’t even close to being done with me. He has more in store for me than I can imagine. In my shame He lifts my chin and tells me I’m not my past, that I’ve been made new. In my exhaustion He is my...

A Reminder of the God Who Sees Me

In: Faith
Woman in a wheat field

I cried over a kitten this morning. It felt dumb and ridiculous. It felt compassionate too, yet the critic in my head condemned me for crying over a kitten when I so often fail in my desire to have a deeper compassion for other people. It felt small and silly, for I could easily count a half dozen people I know and love who are walking through physical pain, devastating loss, or the death of loved ones in their lives. You see, we’ve had three of the fluffiest gray puffballs of kittens, all look-alikes, one a wee bit smaller. We’ve...
