A Gift for Mom! 🤍

Spending hours on end on a ballfield on Mother’s Day may not sound ideal to most, but the ones who get it know that it’s about so much more than watching young kids play ball.

It’s about the instant bonds you make with families who end up becoming like your own family.

It’s being surrounded by people who cheer for your kid louder than you do yourself.

It’s about being lucky enough to have a pack of moms who will care for your child in your absence and send you pics and videos of what you are missing when you can’t be there.

It’s about spending 15 hours on a cold, rainy weekend with people who hate the weather just as much as you, but you couldn’t pay them to be anywhere else, and you’re side by side with them through the good and bad.

It’s about these relationships going so much further than a dusty ballfield.

It’s about simultaneously falling in love with a game because your kid is having the time of their life playing it.

It’s about your boys watching women lift them, and most importantly, each other up.

Love you, my mamas. These are the days, and how lucky we are to do it all together.

Every game, I watch you. I either stand on the sidelines or sit alone, but I see you. The times you play and many times when you don’t. I see you. I see the smiles and the hurt. The joys and the pain. The highs and the lows. You are seen, darling. And I am your biggest fan. The times you don’t get picked. I see it. The times you fall into comparison. I see it. The times you question your gift. I see it. The times you sit on the bench. I see it. RELATED: Sometimes the MVP Never...

Being the Mother of an Athlete Means Learning to Let Go

This is my post. Has been for years. I’ve held this spot sacred, watching you play for so long. Yet as you grow older, I find myself mourning the day I‘ll finally have to give it up. I’ve worn a path here, pacing back and forth with worry. I’ve packed the earth here, jumping up and down with excitement. I’ve found friends here, locking arms so tight that they’ve become bonded like family. I’ve made room in my heart for teammates here, cheering as if they were my own children. I’ve learned to respect, to love, and to offer grace here,...

Here’s To the Siblings on the Sidelines

In: Kids
Little boy on sidelines of sports game with portable fan

To the little siblings who are always there… The ones who tag along for every training and game. The ones who make the car ride an adventure, packed with camping chairs, portable fans, gadgets, snacks, and anything else that might keep them entertained for hours on end. The ones who befriend fellow team siblings, who play Mobile Legends or Roblox on the sidelines, then suddenly dash off for a game of tag around those white boundary lines outside the badminton court. The ones who turn concession stands into money pits, always hungry, always asking for snacks, and always needing someone...
