Top 6 Family Vacation Ideas For All Budgets -

2. Chicago

We traveled on the train to Chicago from our hometown. My husband loved that he didn’t have to drive. This was one our kids’ favorite vacations! We can’t wait to go back to the Windy City.

Activities: We purchased a three-day pass on the double-decker tour bus that transported us to all the amazing sites in Chicago: the John Hancock building (you can see everything from up there), Millennium Park, the Field Museum, Navy Pier and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and  The Museum of Science and Industry. We also enjoyed a fireworks cruise and of course shopping on the Magnificent Mile (the kids loved shopping at American Girl Doll, Nike and Apple – not things you see often in Central Nebraska). My husband was drawn into an impromptu street show with some amazing acrobatics. And, there was so much more to see, do and learn in Chicago. We can’t wait to go back!
