As soon as that way-too-big beige apron went over 2-year-old Arthur Jones’s head, I was done for.
The toddler is the star of a new heartwarming holiday ad for Haford Hardware in Wales—his dad owns the store—and the two-minute spot has gone viral across the globe this week for all the right reasons.
It opens with little Arthur waking up at home in his cozy red pajamas, brushing his teeth, eating down to his breakfast, then heading out the door to start his work day at the hardware store.
We see him fixing things in the store with his toy drill, restocking shelves, pushing a broom through the aisles, crunching numbers alongside his coloring book in the office, and checking customers out at the till with an adorable thumbs-up.
The music—a simple vocal cover of the 80s track “Forever Young”—adds to the sentimental feel, and you’re almost guaranteed to let out an, “Awwww,” when the final scene with a heartwarming twist and the words “Be a kid this Christmas” fades away.
Watch the ad below:
Arthur’s dad, Tom, shot the commercial with a friend and spent a grand total of $130 on the production, which makes it even more magical. It’s been viewed more than 600,000 times on YouTube in just a few days and is making headlines all over the world.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be on my way to Wales to visit Haford Hardware and see if Arthur has a thumbs-up and maybe an extra apron for one of his newest fans from across the pond.
