Q: Tell me a little about yourself. A: I live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I’ve been married for two and a half years to my soul mate, David. In addition to writing, I love yoga, reading, long baths, red lipstick, wine, art museums, live music, autumn and pumpkin spice lattes. Yeah, I’m that girl who’s always wearing yoga pants and toting around a PSL. Q: When did you start blogging and why? A: I’ve been blogging since 2014. Before that, I wrote for the Yahoo! Contributor Network. When that shut down, I needed another outlet to...
Tell me a little about yourself. When did you start blogging and why? I am a mom and a wife, and my family is my everything. I am a certified running coach–I currently coach for Team in Training, and I am on the committee of the Tour de Cure bike ride Houston and the committee of the Get Your Rear in Gear run Houston. I love to do things outdoors with my family, and I love to organize events, whether for charitable causes or just plain fun. I haven’t fully entered the world of blogging yet, but I...
Tell me a little about yourself. I’m a 31-year-old single, mostly stay-at-home mom to two amazing kids. McLaine is my 6-year-old darling girl. When she was unexpectedly born with special needs, it rocked my world. Little did I know she would truly alter the course of my life, change me as a person, give me renewed purpose, and ultimately steer me back to my relationship with God. Beckett is my 4-year-old wild child. He’s charming, witty, funny, smart as a whip and the biggest ball of energy you’ve ever seen. Not only does he keep me on my toes, he also...

Jake our oldest, is 19 and goes to Southeast Community College. Gracie is 11 years going into the 6th grade and lives here with us. Tyler was 15 years on August 20, 2013 only 3 days before his car accident that took him to Heaven. I work from my home doing a lot of different things. My photography and Mary Kay business fill my days most of the time. I...
Tell me a little about yourself. When did you start blogging and why? I started blogging when I was pregnant with my first child, Ethan, in 2000. I have always enjoyed telling stories and keeping journals, so I figured that would be the best way to keep my large extended family updated on our progress! Recently, while I was transferring files from an old computer to Dropbox, I found some of the old layouts and graphics I used on that first blog. What a hoot! It was so primitive and so innocent. I miss those days of raw openness....
Tell me a little about yourself. When did you start blogging and why? I have six kids and an opinion. That may be the briefest definition of me possible. Over the last 12 years my husband and I have helped to raise 22 kids (2 we birthed, 4 we eventually adopted) and through that experience I’ve become passionate about encouraging moms and advocating for the needs of children. Some other facts about me: I’m a Nebraskan, the fourth of five kids, I’ve been married to my husband Brian for 12 years, I enjoy cooking but hate baking, and I secretly...
Tell me a little about yourself. When did you start blogging and why? I was raised in the coolest little town ever, Wilber, Nebraska. I then went to college and made friends there, graduated, got married, moved to Austin, Texas, and made friends there, moved back to Omaha — and made friends here — and then, we found out we were expecting our first babe. Blogging seemed like a fun way for us to keep all of our friends from different places and all of our family in the loop of all things Baby on the Brehm. It...
Tell me a little about yourself. When and why did you start blogging? I’m a local news anchor who has traveled the country. It’s been a blast living in different parts of the Midwest and experiencing the four seasons (since I didn’t have that growing up in San Diego). I began blogging when I was pregnant with my triplets. I decided that I could use my tv/social media following as a platform to raise awareness about infertility. Unfortunately, two of my triplets passed away within the first two months of their lives. Through the heartache, I decided to share my...
Tell me a little about yourself. When did you start blogging and why? Hello HVFH readers! My name is Leah (Cooksley) Peterson and I am from the community of Weissert, Nebraska in Northeast Custer County. I attended a one room school from K-8th grade, then Broken Bow High School. I graduated in 1997 and then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I received my BA in Communication Studies. I met my husband Matt while there. We married in 2001. Since that time, I spent 10 years working in higher education as an Academic Advisor for Bellevue University and a Leadership trainer...
