“Spending quality time together is such an important aspect of family life and for me, as a mother, it is the simple family moments like playing outside together that I cherish.”
These words could have been written by any one of us—the stay-at-home mom, the working mom, the mother of one child or the mother of many. Instead, they came from none other than Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge in an open letter she recently penned.
It seems that the royal family is constantly in the spotlight—their pregnancies, their weddings, their public appearances, their babies. With their whole lives seemingly on display for the world to see, it can be difficult to remember that at the heart of it all, they’re just another family.
And dear, beloved Kate? She’s just another mom who loves her children fiercely and savors the moments spent with them.
In her letter, which was written in recognition of Children’s Hospice Week, Kate’s mama-heart shines through as she empathizes with families whose children are facing “unimaginable” circumstances and encourages others to “spread joy and positivity across the U.K., encouraging everyone to make the most of moments that matter.”
Kate’s touching letter and sweet reference to her own family is an important reminder to us all about, “how precious time is for everyone.”
Spoken like a true mama.
