One day you will sleep for eight hours straight.

One day you won’t have to pour out another drink.

One day there won’t be a diaper to change.

One day your back won’t hurt from holding your baby.

And on that day, you will say, “I miss the good ol’ days.”

The days when whining was followed by laughter.

The days when it looked like the toy box threw up in the living room.

The days when you stumbled to a crib in the middle of the night to turn a cry into a smile.

The days when you were pulled from a party to soothe a sweet soul.

The days when your child sought comfort by listening to your heartbeat.

The days when those big blue eyes started up at you during a changing.

You are living in the “good ol’ days.” Take time to breathe it in, mama.

One day, you will miss it.
