Have you ever wondered why you’re here? What God’s plan for you is? How you can make a difference?
We all have – many times I’m sure. Well, if you’re a parent it can seem scary to think of what may lie ahead in the world we are creating for our children. It seems the world is sinking deeper and deeper into ugliness. So many technological advancements, yet it seems as though we digress.
Humanity isn’t really gaining when it comes to the battle against sin and destruction.
I look in the mirror and I think, “I am here to be the change!” I am not only someone that should be living my life on purpose and making a positive impact on the world around me, but I am a parent. I have the opportunity, no obligation to raise children that make a positive impact on the world. God didn’t bless me and trust me with these creations for kicks and giggles! These humans are His creations, sent to be the change!
Each day it is up to me to grow. Grow my faith, grow my health, grow my intellect, grow my fitness. It is up to me to help a neighbor, a friend, a stranger. What have I learned? What can I share with someone else to help them learn?
As a parent, it is up to me to teach and empower my children to be kind, to be respectful, to know, love and serve God, to be hard-working, to love, to be loved, to seek education and knowledge, to be generous, to be polite, to be honest, to be responsible, to be exceptional – not mediocre, to be dependable – not dependent, to be healthy, to be fit, to be patient, to be persistent, to be reliable, to be gracious, to be faithful, to be resourceful, to think outside the box and be a problem solver not a complainer. Oh the lessons I want to teach them! Some they will get, others will be in their own time. But I will teach and I will fail and I will succeed.
By the Grace of God I was blessed to have the opportunity to impact our world in a positive way by fostering the Holy Spirit in my children and I am ever so grateful for the gift and the trust He has in me. What an awesome and mighty gift!
It will be hard, it will be exhausting, it will seem futile at times, but done on purpose it will matter! Do not take this awesome gift for granted, hug them like they will be gone tomorrow, because they will. Teach them like you are the only way they will ever learn, because the example you are to them means more than you think.
Leave a legacy that impacts our world in a positive way for generations to come. Parent on purpose.
Blessings!
