There’s just something about a girl dad.

He has a hand gentle enough to tie hair ties, precise enough to paint toenails.

He smirks and brings that pet bunny home because he just can’t turn down those batting eyelashes. And then he builds a rabbit mansion for it to live in.

He doesn’t bat an eye about sitting at a mini tea party or taking his daughter to her first dance.

The glitter and pink marker that get on his clothes never bothers him.

He teaches his daughters how they deserve to be treated by a husband someday.

He makes strong girls, who know how to change a tire and check their oil. Girls who know how to defend themselves from unwanted attention.

He reminds his daughters they are beautiful just the way they are. The less makeup and hair dye, the better.

He is confident enough to watch them leave on their first date, but you can bet he will still be waiting up when they get home.

And someday, Daddy will walk his baby girl down the aisle. It won’t be easy, there may be tears. But he will know he did the best he could to prepare her for the life ahead.
