Thank you for all the time you put into being involved in my life when I was growing up. Going to all my sports games, listening when I needed someone to talk to, and being the perfect example of what parents should be like. You two have been the best role models in my life and I have you to thank for where I am today. There are so many meaningful things you have done for me from the day I was born that I will cherish forever.

All the family meals we had at the table- this sounds ridiculous, but it is something that seems to be lost in so many homes these days. I enjoyed coming home from school and practice and sitting at the table enjoying a meal together; and mom, the work you put into making meals and cleaning up was more than appreciated.

All the hours you spent supporting me in sports goes back way further than just four years of high school. From coaching me in elementary tournaments, to spending time in the gym in the summer to work and get better, to traveling to every single game to be my biggest fans. It felt good knowing you were proud no matter the result of the game.

All the good advice you gave me when I was struggling with something “serious” in my life. The two of you have always been the best at listening to me when I have things I need to talk about. The advice you give me is always taken to heart and I know you only want what’s best for me. It is a great feeling knowing that no matter the time or day I call, you will always pick up.

All the times you gave up things you wanted to do for something I wanted to do- I may not have known you were giving up things at that moment, but looking back, the both of you spent so much time doing things that I wanted that you were obviously giving up other things. Having parents that were around definitely made a difference in my life.

Thank you for being the best parents from when I was growing up- to this day. It was because of all those wonderful parenting moments that the two of you became my friends. You are a true example of what a relationship and parents should look like. My children will be more than lucky to grow up with you as grandparents!

I recently married my husband, Tyler, on May 30. We live in Western Nebraska and have two energetic dogs, Bugs (German Shorthair) and Jax (Chocolate Lab). I am the 5th and 6th grade English teacher at Perkins County Elementary and am getting ready to start my first year as head coach for the Perkins County High School volleyball team. I stay busy helping on the farm (well, more like driving the guys from field to field), playing in women's golf league, and just being outside.
