The Sweetest Mother's Day Gift!

It’s a sure sign the new royal baby will be here any day: Meghan Markle’s mom has touched down on British soil!

Doria Ragland, who lives and works in Los Angeles, has reportedly made the trip across the pond to be by her daughter’s side as she welcomes her first child with Prince Harry, according to Entertainment Tonight. The grandma-to-be and her daughter share a close relationship, and Ragland was the only member of Meghan’s family to attend the royal wedding last year.

The Duchess of Sussex hasn’t been seen in public for a few weeks, and is officially on maternity leave from her royal duties. As the world clamors for updates on all things royal baby, the palace has been tight-lipped on details surrounding couple’s impending arrival.

Will Meghan give birth in a hospital, or are rumors she may be planning a homebirth true? We know we won’t learn of the baby’s birth right away, but how long will we be made to wait? Is the baby a boy or a girl? Will the name honor Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana? Is it possible the baby has already been born as some royal watchers speculate?

So much fodder for the office baby pool!

Alas, it seems we’ll have to settle for taking a page out of the Queen’s book and “Keep Calm and Carry On” as we wait and wonder—and obsessively stalk the couple’s Instagram and Kensington Palace Twitter accounts.

The nerdy (his words) engineer from Massachusetts has taken the internet by storm for his pivotal role at the men’s gymnastics team final in helping Team USA clinch the bronze, their first medal since 2008. Nedoroscik competed in just one event—the pommel horse. He waited patiently as the suspense built, cheering on his teammates as they took turns competing in the other events. Social media quickly caught on to the unusual strategy, as evidenced in various TikTok videos and...

As women, we’re warned about the dangers of toxic shock syndrome, or TSS, from the time we’re teenagers. I clearly remember learning how important it is to change tampons regularly and not to wear them for extended periods. It wasn’t until recently, though, that I learned of the potential dangers of tampon use while swimming, especially in non-chlorinated water. One mother’s post on Facebook went viral after her teenage daughter contracted toxic shock syndrome from a tampon she wore while swimming in the Lake of the Ozarks. Ashley Anthony, a surgical tech in Jacksonville, IL., detailed the entire ordeal online...

After weeks of speculation about her whereabouts, Kate Middleton has surfaced with a shocking announcement: she’s been diagnosed with cancer. In a video released Friday, Catherine, the Princess of Wales sits on an outdoor bench and speaks directly to the camera about her diagnosis. It follows a “planned abdominal surgery” announced by the Royal family in January. At that time, the Palace said Kate would not resume her Royal duties until Easter. At the time, Kate says, the procedure was believed to be for something non-cancerous. After the surgery, it was determined cancer was present. The type of cancer has...

father and daughter cuddled up on the couch watching football

It’s hard for any girl dad to imagine a time when his daughter will stop wanting to spend time with him. But seemingly overnight, she can go from a devoted daddy’s girl to a prickly, detached teen who is much more interested in what’s happening on her phone than hanging out with her old man. Suddenly it can feel like there is no common ground between them, and shared interests are few and far between. But this NFL season has been different for football-loving dads and their Swiftie daughters. A heartwarming commercial from Cetaphil with the tagline, “A New Sports...

I Wasn’t Prepared for So Many Tears When Tracy Chapman Sang “Fast Car” at the Grammys

Photo of Tracy Chapman at the 2024 Grammys

It’s Tuesday and I cannot stop thinking about Tracy Chapman singing “Fast Car” at the Grammys on Sunday night. I think it has taken me so long to say something because I’m honestly still reeling. I was completely unprepared for the wave of emotions that hit me as she stood on that stage in jeans and a simple black shirt and sang that haunting melody, as beautifully as she did 36 years ago when it was released. It’s a song that simultaneously lifts your soul and breaks your heart and I was wrecked. Everyone has a memory of “Fast Car.”...

Bob Barker, color photo

“Mom, why are you crying?” my daughter asked me. “Because Bob Barker died,” I said through tears. I didn’t know Bob. You probably didn’t either. But he showed up on our TV every weekday morning in the summer. As long as the antennas were set just so to get reception, of course. We only had three channels. Four on a good day, and the Price is Right was a staple in our home. So Bob and I became good friends. Henley Czinner valentine drawing

The internet got a real “treat” this week, courtesy of a Valentine’s Day drawing by a young artist from Wisconsin that has since gone viral. Here’s the backstory: seven-year-old Henley Czinner decided to draw her parents a special picture in honor of the holiday that’s centered around love. So sweet, right? The drawing features a cheerful-looking woman walking a bright yellow dog surrounded by red hearts—a perfectly innocent valentine, at first glance. “To Mom and Dad,” it reads, “Happy Valintines Day.” (Let’s give her some credit, it’s a tough one to spell!) “Love you soooooooo much.” No detail is overlooked—from...
