I married a man who knows how to love a mother.

I could tell he was a good son from the start, but the day my husband became a daddy, he proved it to me—

He knows how to love a mother.

He’s prayed over me and our babes even before we knew our first child’s name.

He knows how to love a mother.

He’s coached me through my hardest days. He’s cheered me on through labor pains.

He knows how to love a mother.

He knows when to step in and discipline and help. He knows when I need a break.

He knows how to love a mother.

He is respectful of my feelings. And he appreciates me.

He knows how to love a mother.

I know he’s not perfect; he gets tired and worked up, too. But he apologizes and he checks on me.

And I know our kids are watching, and they are so grateful, too.

Because it matters to them.

To see their daddy love their mother.

For all the shared chores.

For all the date nights we keep.

For all the kids’ giggles and jumping into play.

For being my best friend and supporting me every day.

My life is so much better.

It’s so much fuller.

It’s more than I ever dreamed it could be.

Because I’m blessed to say I married a man who knows how to love a mother.

Every day is a good day to say thank you.

Thank you for being a daddy who loves us so well.
