Dear little one,
I met a friend.
Some say He is invisible . . . but not to worry, He lives here inside my heart.
He knows me in ways I don’t know myself, and He promises we’ll never part.
He is strong when I am weak, and He makes me brave when I feel small.

I don’t have to be afraid when He’s around, for I know He’ll catch my fall.
Even in my darkest moments, His light will guide me through.
He is my best friend, my strength, my rock, and He always knows the right thing to do.
This friend of mine, He isn’t choosy–He loves the sinner, the meek, the blind.
He tells us we only have to ask, seek, and knock, and we will find.
He is the greatest love that ever was, for before time existed the Father knew.
He would send His only Son to die so all who love Him could live, including me and you.
I am here to tell you that this friend of mine, He isn’t just for me.

The greatest thing I can do as your parent is to guide you and help you see.
He is waiting to be your friend, too and loves you more than I could describe.
He will never fail you, never leave you—He will always be by your side.
This friend of mine, dear little one, is not a friend you have to look for.
You see, you already have Him, right here on the inside.
So talk to Him any time you want, some people call this prayer.
Tell Him the good, the bad, the ugly, nothing you say or do will make Him scared.
Remember He loves you and He wants you to love Him, too.
Remember He is always there for you and wants what is best for you.

I have waited long enough to introduce this friend, so without further ado . . .
His name is above any other name.
His name is Jesus.
And He will always love you.
