Your greatest need today is Jesus.
I know you think it’s better hair and skin.
Or better clothes and new shoes.
Or losing 15 pounds.
But your greatest need today is Jesus.
Maybe you think it’s finding a new job or new friends.
Or becoming a better cook, better house cleaner, or better juggler of all the things.
Or learning how to be a better you. Better mom. Better wife. Better friend. Better, better, better . . .
But, your greatest need today is Jesus.
And if you fill that need today, the shallow things will lose their pull on you. All the trying to be better won’t choke the life out of you. The heavy things will fall light around you. And you’ll remember that you are never alone and there is One who is working for you, beside you, and within you. Because you have chosen what is best.
