I am not Valentine’s Day’s biggest fan. Actually, I think it’s a pretty lame holiday. Gunnar and I rarely do gifts. Honestly the only gift from him I can remember is a water bottle that magically turned non-potable water into drinkable water with a fancy light. He is such a romantic.
Nevertheless, I’m sure there are lots couples out there who love each other a waaay more than we do, so here are three Valentine’s Day date ideas (for my fellow Lincolnites) that don’t suck.
Swan Lake at the Lied Center. This is where you’ll find me on VD. With the hottest date in Lincoln. My mom. The show is going to be spectacular. The Suzanne Farrell Ballet is coming all the way from the Kennedy Center for their very first performance in Nebraska. Suzanne Farrell is a BIG DEAL. Go ahead. Google her. George Balanchine’s muse, the greatest American ballerina of all time. Buying tickets to this is going to score you some major points with your sweetie……….. or your mom.
Date Night at Lux Center for the Arts. If you can’t make the Valentine’s Day one, any of these would make an amazing gift for the dudes or the ladies you love. Hint, Gunnar. Hint, hint. Subtle hints!!!!!!!
Starlite’s Annual Valentine Dinner and Dance. If I didn’t have to work I’d be aaaall over this, in my finest vintage duds, of course. Oh, and they’re crowing a prince and princess, a.k.a king and queen of the universe.
What are YOU doing on Feb. 14?
