A friend told me recently that they loved me because I enjoy life so fully. (Thanks Mike, right back at ya!) My reply was, “How could I NOT enjoy my life?!?” I am so incredibly blessed to have my husband and children, family , friends, AMAZING colleagues and partners to work with and my awesome Priests and faith family. How could I wake up every morning and not just be absolutely thrilled to be alive?
I literally wake up excited about my life, the people I am fortunate enough to share it with and the opportunities my life presents regularly. I am at a place in my journey that invigorates me. I have found a true life partner that encourages me, forgives me, prays with and FOR me, supports me, believes in me and truly helps me to become a better version of myself on a regular basis.
I believe whole-heartedly that we are placed here on this Earth to leave it better than we found it and to make a lasting positive difference. Friday I spent some time with some good friends talking and asking each other questions. We sat in a kiddy pool full of balls laughing, crying and talking. I came away from that time with a deep appreciation for where I am in my life.
One of the questions was, “If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?” I instantly answered, “Absolutely NOTHING! Every mistake, every wrong turn, every bump in the road has brought me right where I belong.” God has a way of navigating us through this journey. He helps to make right our wrongs. The free will he has given us is for our own good. We have to make the choice to do what is right and good. When we stray, it has to be our own choices and actions that bring us back to where we need to be. If we maintain a strong relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, they will help guide us back to the straight path.
Being capable of asking for help and admitting when you’re wrong or lost is powerful. God wants each of us to make the choice to love one another to reach out to one another and to spread the kindness and good news with others.
I encourage you today to stop what you are doing and think of one small change you can make in your life that will make a positive difference in your life or the life of others. One small change. Spend some time with a loved one, a friend or a stranger and get to know them, talk to them, encourage them, maybe it is someone that you need to ask forgiveness from, but DO IT!
You don’t need to sit in a kiddy pool full of balls with questions on it, although that was pretty fun! Just slow down, take the time to enjoy the people you are sharing this journey with and share the love God has graced you with!
A special thank you this week to my husband and kids for giving me this time away with my friends to learn and grow, I will return to you with a renewed spirit. I love you Darby, your support and encouragement give me wings to soar!
Blessings!
