I love these.
My co-worker Sharon – showed up with these on the 3rd of July. We were all working the fireworks, and this served as a nice excuse to take a 10 minute break.
They are apparently easy. I haven’t personally made them, but the title should explain the simplicity of this recipe. Extra bonus? My girls loved them and they taste like something my Grandma would have made me back in the day for an afterschool snack.
I like that.
Sharon gave me the recipe on this sweet recipe card, too. Not many people take the time to do that anymore. Thus – I like the recipe even more.
I think these make a perfect summer treat and would be fun during the holiday season, too. (Because of the red color. I think you got it – I just had to clarify.)

- 1 cup Crisco
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- Cherry Pie Filling
- Cream Cirsco and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and then flour, a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla and baking powder.
- Put 3/4 of the batter in greased 15 X 17" pan. Spread pie filling on top and then dab remaining batter randomly over top.
- Bake 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
