The now-classic Christmas movie Elf starring Will Ferrell is hands down my favorite holiday movie, EVER. I mean please, who needs “an angel gets its wings” when you can have “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” I guess I’m more touched by slapstick comedy than sentimentality: feel free to judge!

This year, Elf fans will have something extra to do while they watch the hilarious movie for the gazillionth time: Elf Monopoly!

That’s right! USAopoly is releasing an Elf version of the famous commerce game just in time for the holidays. Now you can move around past the land of swirly-twirly gumdrops to the magical land of New York City as Buddy the Elf sees it while you haggle to be top real estate dog. In Elf Monopoly, the classic game pieces have been replaced with Santa’s Sleigh, Polar Bear Cub, Jack-in-the-Box, Mailroom Coffee Mug, Santa’s Bag, and my personal favorite Maple Syrup. (Like Buddy, I am a huge fan of sugar.)

Elf Monopoly, like its forebear, takes forever to play.

But if you play it while watching the Elf movie, you are guaranteed to laugh your butt off and the time will just fly by! As the game rules say, “Celebrating the classic holiday comedy, this custom edition of Monopoly will have you collecting and trading wondrous landmarks along the path of Buddy’s journey, like Santa’s Workshop, Gimbel’s Toy Department, and the Lincoln Tunnel.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m already planning on screaming “SANTA! I KNOW HIM!” every time I land on Santa’s Workshop. Can you guess which quote I’ll be spouting off every time I pull a “Christmas Cheer” card (it’s the new Community Chest)??
