OK, be honest, how many of you have already put your trees up and decorated for Christmas? With 2020 being so very . . . gloomy, I think we are ALL in need of holiday cheer early this year! However, my husband’s birthday is November 26th (Thanksgiving Day this year!), and he has a strict “no decorating for Christmas until after my birthday” rule so we are holding off (what a GRINCH, am I right? LOL!).
I’m jealous of those of you whose homes are already a-twinklin’!
However, one thing I am way ahead on is holiday shopping. I get in the gifting spirit very early each holiday season because not only is my husband’s birthday in November, so is my daughter’s. And, my mom’s is December 7th and our son’s is December 17th. It’s overwhelming!
Sooo . . . I start shopping mid-October and don’t stop til it’s done. I even have a color-coded spreadsheet to keep all the birthday and Christmas gifts straight. Ha!
I was already in full shopping mode when I saw this Christmas commercial from Etsy that made me BOO-HOO.
(Side note, I had already ordered a special gift from Etsy! But now I wanna order more!)
In this heartwarming commercial, long-distance grandparents are able to connect with their grandchildren over a video call (something that is OH SO RELEVANT right now!) and receive a sweet, handmade gift made just for them from an Etsy artisan on behalf of their little grandson.
You HAVE to watch this, but get your tissues first!
Does that open the floodgates or what? I love it so much!
There’s nothing better than giving the perfect gift and seeing the recipient’s eyes light up when he or she opens it! It’s my absolute favorite part of Christmas or birthdays: surprising my loved ones with something that is so unique they never would have expected it. With Etsy, you can definitely get that one-of-a-kind, handmade present that was crafted especially for someone you love. I can’t wait to give the gift I’ve already bought a special someone from there.
Which reminds me . . . I better mark that as “already purchased” on my spreadsheet!
Do you have a formula for holiday shopping? Do you prefer online or in store? Whatever your strategy, I hope you give and receive gifts that make you feel extra loved this year!
