Our prayers have been answered! Chip and Joanna are returning to television in a big way!
The most beloved couple of reality TV shocked fans on Friday night during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” when they revealed the news that they would be getting their own TV network.
Chip and Jo had the best time being guests on @FallonTonight! @chipgaines got a little excited & spilled the beans on a potential project that we’re working on. This isn’t a done deal quite yet but we are all really excited about what we’ve got in mind: our own cable network! pic.twitter.com/zHUgXlCeqx

Fallon asked the pair if they would ever return to the small screen. Chip responded: “We signed a non-disclosure, and it said quote unquote you can tell your mother but that’s it. So mom, I just wanted to make a quick announcement, we are coming back to television. You are going to get to see the kids grow up, you are going to see us, well, maybe a six-month delay like the rest of the world, but we are excited to be back.”
But in typical Gaines fashion, the power couple is taking it up a notch. According to a statement from Magnolia spokesman Jim Marsicano: “We’re excited to share that we are currently in the early stages of talking with Discovery about a lifestyle-focused media network for Magnolia. The details surrounding this opportunity remain a work in progress, but together, our hope is to build a different kind of platform for unique, inspiring and family-friendly content.”
That’s right friends. An entire channel dedicated to the Gaines family. Mind. Blown.
Named The Magnolia Network, we will have to be patient for another 12-to-18 months for it to premiere–but we’re guessing it will be worth the wait.
To the devastation of fans, the Gaines family ended the fifth season of their popular home renovation show, Fixer Upper, in the spring of 2018 after the surprise announcement that the couple was adding a fifth child to their clan. While their fanbase mourned, Chip has repeatedly hinted at a return but without any details.
Said Gaines: “So we actually partnered with (CEO) David Zaslav and Discovery, we’re actually going to have a network, and I think we’re going to really carve it out in a way that makes sense to us and our family,” he revealed. “It’s going to be filmed a lot in Waco, Texas, so we don’t have to travel a whole lot.”
He continued: “We could not be more excited.”
Oh, not more than us, Chip. Not even close.
