Our Keepsake Journal is Here! 🎉

I want to be that praying mama. The one who stops on the side of the road when the time seems fit, just to take those few short, undistracted moments to lift my kids up to God.

I want to be that praying mama. The one who prays while she drives down the road to schools and lifts each one up as they exit the car for the start of their day.

I want to be that praying mama. The one who does it so much that the youngest doesn’t have to ask me who am I talking to anymore because she already knows how Mama rolls.

I want to be that praying mama. Who goes to spiritual battle for my child, day in and day out, even on the good days. Because we all know the devil is lying in wait for the calm so he can disrupt it.

I want to be that praying mama. The one other women know the relationship I hold with God is true and firm and request that I pray for their children as well. For they are all God’s precious ones.

I want to be that praying mama. Like my friend Kim J., who prayed for her boys at all times as they grew in this sinful world.

To reap the reward of loving adult children who still honor their mother and know who God is.

These are some of the things I pray for daily. To be the praying mama.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows through it” (Proverbs 4:23).

“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20).

Our article, 50 Questions To Ask Your Kids Instead Of Asking ‘How Was Your Day’ has been a huge hit with all of you (and in my home, too).  Seriously, my girls love it. Mom and dad do as well. Last night as I was reading your comments, I decided we needed a faith specific version of these questions. (Thanks middle of the night nursing session for my ‘thinking’ time.) And so our writers came through (again) with these 70 questions to ask your kids. I love this list so much.. maybe even more than the first. I hope it helps...

I Want My Kids To Know God’s Always There

A few months ago, my friend lost his dad. And it impacted our community profoundly. Because he loved SO BIG. Everywhere he went, he couldn’t help but talk to and engage with people—sharing a joke to make them smile or offering a compliment to build them up. He was a connector. And in all the connecting he did, he was quick to remind everyone he encountered that our hearts are ever connected to a God who loves us. It had become his thing to pass out little wooden crosses to those he happily chatted up as he went about each...

I was caught. “Hey!” he said. “What are you doing?” “I’m just looking for something I dropped earlier,” I whispered (and lied). He was practically sleep-walking so didn’t question, but stepped over me to the bathroom. I quickly stood up and walked back to my room. The next morning, our oldest son teased me for crawling around in the dark, and I acted like I had no idea what he was talking...
