Can we be honest with each other?
I know it isn’t popular or cool. I know it isn’t healthy or smart and it just isn’t in fashion! But I need to get this off my chest. I can’t live the lie anymore. I can’t keep on pretending that the only things I eat are lean, wild-caught proteins, fresh organically grown vegetables, salads with a vinaigrette dressing and kale or spinach smoothies all damn day.
Are you ready for the truth?
I eat fast food.
And I let my kids eat fast food.
And I know you do too.
I have seen your car in that drive-thru. I know you don’t go in because it feels safer to never exit your vehicle. Maybe if you don’t go in, people will never know that you ate that cheeseburger. I know everyone is mortified when the 4-year old admits to having McDonalds for dinner, but sometimes I just don’t feel like cooking! And sometimes I just don’t have time to deal with dinner. And who has the time and energy required to come up with some creative and home-cooked meal 7 times a week?!
I don’t eat it every day, but sometimes the only thing that sounds good is a burger and fries. Plus, we all know that nothing is better than French fries dipped in a chocolate frosty.
