The weather is warm, birds are chirping, flowers blooming you can feel it, summer is almost here. That can’t be right? We still have so much to do in our garden as we have been very distracted with our kitchen remodel project. We definitely need to get into the garden this week, but that can be a little difficult when you check the forecast and you see tiny lighting bolts and rain scattering over the next 7 days.
Although the rain is good for the garden it can delay getting some much
needed work done. So instead of fretting over it, we might as well enjoy these rainy days…right?!?
Here are my Top Ten (in no particular order) things to do while it
1. Catch up on my DVR
It is probably a good thing to be behind on DVR that means I have kept
myself busy enough so watching T.V. isn’t the only thing on my mind!
2. Curl up on the couch with a good book
I am currently reading the third book of the Hunger Games
series “Mockingjay” this is such a good series I would highly recommend
3. Watch a movie and make popcorn
I love watching movies, it is one of my favorite things to do, but nothing scary
I will pee my pants and have nightmares for weeks…nobody wants that!
4. Take a nap
Oh man do I love a good nap, I used to take naps all the time through college
but not much lately, mainly because I won’t sleep at night if I do. Does that
make me old?
5. Have a date night
What a great chance to have some one on one time with your significant
other, doing something fun like going bowling, out to eat or to a movie.
6. “Cuddle” with my hubby 😉
7. Drink Wine
Who out there likes wine? I know it isn’t for everyone but oh man I love the
stuff, lucky for me, my in-laws have a vineyard and are starting to make wine.
Hopefully we will have some soon! (Normally I drink red wine but this one is more refreshing on a warm day ~ I don’t always fill my wine glasses to the brim! Also that icky countertop you see will be gone very soon!)
8. Bake cookies
I don’t know what it is about cookies on rainy or snowy days, but the nasty
weather makes them taste so much yummier.
9. Play Board Games
Nothing like a nice game of Yahtzee to help you unwind and relax…haha yea
right my family and I are pretty competitive so anytime the board games
come out…GAME ON!
10. Make Soup
Along with cookies, soup always taste better on those nasty weather days.
Those are my top ten, what are some of your favorite things to do while it is raining?
