I have a secret to share: I’ve never been an arts and crafts mom. It’s like I’m missing the gene.

To be honest, I suck at it and my kids outpaced my skills by the time they were five.

But they love creating art, and even though it’s not my strength, I know it’s a great way for them to fill some downtime and stay occupied while I get a few things done.

Fortunately for me, there are so many artists, craft savants, and organizations that are rescuing parents like me during this time when we’re forced to stay home.

We hit the internet, and here are a few of our favorites:

Easy Kids Crafts: This is a kids craft channel that will inspire your kids to create and enhance their crafting skills. It has lots of simple crafts using materials you most likely have around the house.



TinkerLab TV: This is a great space that shares science experiments, engineering projects, crafts, and art projects for kids and little inventors, from TinkerLab®. 


Inner Child Fun: From Valerie Deneen, Inner Child is full of PLAY ideas. Make your own bubble solution, how to make sidewalk chalk paint, and how to make an outdoor obstacle course. LOTS of ideas for outside fun.
